Grey Filly wins at The Royal Winter Fair

Postby briarhalo » Tue Nov 17, 2009 12:46 pm

For those of you that like greys, I hope to have pics soon.....I am thirlled to bits!!! My filly won the 3 yr old TB class at The Royal Winter fair on Saturday. Came back for the Senior Chamionship and won that. Was called back for the Grand Championship and was Reserve Champion! What an exciting day!

Earlier she had been in the Lt Governor Cup class (under saddle) but did not get kept in. The only TB that made it through this year, so that in itself was a HUGE accomplishment.

A huge note, the horse that beat her in the Grand Champion had been purchased at the recent wWoodbine sale...a 4 yr old, mare in foal....very nice mare!

TC, thanks so much but I am wondering if you are thinking of Kierra? The one with the 4 whites and full blaze....this one is full sister, alas only 3 whites (not so high) and a blaze...LOL. And not dappled.....she is very interesting roan/grey. Kierra is the same age as Faux Finish. She always had the WOW factor from the day she was born, Lacey kind of snuck up on us.....lol. Saw it at birth but then was overshadowed still by big sister. Didn't she show her up!!

I am waiting for hubby to forward me a pic or 2, they are not the best a little blurry but, if someone would be so kid to post for me? I am a little challenged with posting the pics here..

Thank you all for your kind replies. It was SO very exciting too! Had really hoped to get vindication for having our ribbon "mailed" to us when we showed Kierra in 2007 and won Top TB in the LG Cup Class, even though she "only" placed 10th, she was still the top TB. But alas, it was not to be. Still pretty flattering to have been the only TB that qualified.
