Can anyone help me please can you explain if you have the same group races as we do in the uk as in group 1 the derby or the oakes and group 2 and then group 3 and then listed which gives us black type.
how does it work in the US and Canada as I have a mare who is related to the above girl she is her aunty. and we will be racing her son so I could do with knowing thanks
I have been searching the net only to find that we call our races group and you guys call them grade what I need to know is what is the Canadian Woodbine Oaks race.

The Woodbine Oaks is a restricted (to Canadian-Breds) and is ungraded. The group/graded stakes races are equivalent ie. a Group 1 is comparable to a Grade 1 race.
Canada does have Graded races, but our Oaks (and the Queen's Plate for that matter) are not one of them, as they are both restricted.
