OH MY GOD that is what I was hoping for with my filly this year!!! Now how did this happen?!

If you look at her pedigree, neither of her parents or grandparents are black....

There are bays and chestnuts, etc.

Does someone know what may have happened there? I bred to a good runner stud who is true black, and had it in his family, and out comes a bay!! :roll:

Agouti negative ('a') is recessive. It can hide in both bays and chestnuts. You can get blacks out of nearly any combination. You can also get bay out of many different combinations as well.
