I posted this under "For Sale" but decided this would be a better place.
My partner, in Winchester, VA has a pure bred Araibian pony approximately 13.2 hh that is a deep red chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail with four white stockins all up to her knees with a white blaze and a white slotch on one side and under her belly,
She is the product on an Egyption stallion and a Crabbit mare with very good conformation and dispostion. I have admired her all winter and now she has shed out and is slick and shiny and last Friday she put her tail up over her back, started snorting and prancing that dressage type trot some horses do when they feel especially good or have been trained to do so.
She is 6 years old and has been trained but has not been ridden for several years..Her feet need some attention but nothing serious..
Does anyone know of a site like Handride that caters to show ponys??

Hey griff,
Try:
www.bigeq.com
www.virginiaequestrian.com
www.dianecrump.com
There are also several farms in that area that deal in pony sales, one of them being Sandstone Farm (www.sandstonefarm.com) in Millwood, and also Fox Chase Farm (www.foxchasefarm.net) offers free classifieds on their website.
I'm trying to sell my flashy little pony as well, and those are some of the sites/contacts I've used as I'm near Winchester also.

griff, unless you're trying to sell her as a broodmare you should get a definitive measure on her before listing her for sale. For show purposes, 13.2 is the dividing line between medium and large ponies. If she measures 13.2 or slightly under, she will be worth a great deal more than if she measures 13.2 1/4.
Laurie has given you great advice, Griff - that fraction of an inch can mean the difference between $ and $$ when it comes to ponies in that size range. You said her feet need some attention - it might be a good investment on the owner's part to get her feet trimmed before you get her measured - that way she is as short as possible.
All the best!
