(Three photos of Arty)
Art In Motion (Allamystique X Rutland Road) made an appearance at
Devon in the 2 y/o stallion/gelding class. Allthough only 2 in the class
and him taking second, he's number one in our hearts! IMO the other
2/y/o male was thick all through the throat latch, neck, and base of neck and his hind
end didn't follow through to his leg. Guess the judge missed those faults with so
many other horses in the ring at the time, LOLOLOL. I was told once again, the public was very
positive about such fine TB's with color. Way to go Arty and Mary Anne!
Art In Motion (Allamystique) made us proud at Devon!

All the babies are growing up so pretty
I looked through the album and saw TC's filly as well..they are both beautiful babies
Will he stay that colour?... some of them fade out?
I've notice some seem to fade out to white but Puchilingui and Airdrie Apache didn't I don't think?
Please help my understand

I think the winning colt was a gorgeous hunter. Art has always been of a more modern type that I have loved to see mature over the last two years. The thing we are finding out in the HB (especially the big ones) if they look the part they are going to win it. Secret Santa definitely looked the part.
Yes the first place colt looked like most of the rest I'd say, but looking at the show photos, I'm sure the best in the country did not get to go to the show, I was not impressed at all with the yearling and 2 y/o classes. If both colts were bay, Art was more well conformed. As most shows go, the locals attend plus a few outsider's show up. Looked like a poor turn-out from what I hear the shows have been like in the past, but the economy is poor too, so that makes good sense.

I want a colourful one like Puchilingui but that doesn't have a white face...maybe a blase or a star?
I'd say that would be darned near impossible to get to be honest - loud colouring on the body and legs and nothing or minimal on the legs ...
I was not impressed at all with the yearling and 2 y/o classes.
Uh ... thanks ... Nightlight was in the 2 year old class ...

helen in FL wrote:HB is a really tightly closed competition wise. It's the same old men winning year after year so it is even harder to break through if you have something different. I did notice the socks are more frequent than in later years. So much for the traditionalists and their minimal white!
It can be the same over here..but the pro's won't show cr*p so you don't mind getting beaten if theirs are better than yours.
The judges on the other hand always have their preference and it's hard breaking through with the funky colours when you get an old judge that just loves bays lol
But 'hey ho' that's showing and some you win some you lose..at the end of day it's only one persons opinion
I personally enjoy the showing as it gets my babies out for experience before they do their real job
