He is just as sweet as he is cute. As for color, well, hmmmm. AA would be chestnut carrying a "sabino" gene as DW is not listed on a color calculator that I have found. Please take into account that AA also carries somewhere a copy of a black gene as he has produced black babies when bred to blacks and bays. He is on my list to dna just because of his black colt last year.

Congratulations...beautiful baby :)

I don't think Airdrie Apache carries a black gene...he is ee and probably Aa, so if he doesn't pass the agouti gene A to one of his babies and mum doesn't either and she is bay or black herself...then the black foal would be Ee aa ,the E from mum and the e from dad.
Remember E is dominant over e :)

Truly & R3: Thank you so much.

R3, yes, he has color in his tail and mane. Waiting for dam to heal up a bit more for turn out and then should be able to get better pix of him.

When using a color calculator you might try using gray as a stand in for DW. Both will pass on 50% of the time, not a perfect solution but it might help.

Finale Mystique (pending) has been sold to Megson Farms in Kentucky. We are very excited. He will also be put into race horse training as soon as he is old enough. His full sister, Snow Mystique, is currently in training. Jumping up and down happy!
