Guaranteed Gold/RFF Pearlescent cremello filly has arrived!

Postby TrueColours » Sun Jun 12, 2011 6:12 am

Thank goodness I was home is all I can say!

I was in the barn with the fellows with their backhoe digging up the barn floor to repair a water leak and I looked out in the paddock just after noon, and Pearl was laying down. Not flat out - just upright and laying down. It was hot out, she was due June 26th, she had been dragging her butt around for the last few weeks, was bagged up but no wax, no imminent signs of foaling at all! Didnt think anything of it at all. Ive often looked out and seen her down and resting

Continued doing stalls, kept looking out, she was still down and sleeping.

The next time I looked out she was standing and I looked and looked again and thought "YIKEYS!!! There is something hanging out of her back end! Its a sac and FEET and a NOSE!!!"

So bless her heart - most of her water had broken outside, dragged her in, and she foaled a beautiful cremello filly for us just before 1:00

Here are a few pictures from Friday and a couple from Saturday as well at just under 12 hours old

She's a really beautiful filly - she definately got her gorgeous head compliments of Guaranteed Gold, she is huge and leggy and really elegant and correct. I am thrilled to bits with her! :)

Ive applied for "Some Like it Haute" as her registered name - I'll see in the next couple of days if I get it or not ...

I was really hoping for a filly and this gorgeous girl fit the bill perfectly! :)

You nut!!!

I am really really pleased with her. She is a such a smart cookie too - picking up all of her feet. Leading to the paddock without any problems (tomorrow is "Introduction to Fly Mask Day!") amd just a super nice filly to be around

Yes - she is for sale. They pretty well all are. Its how I can continue to buy new mares all the time to breed to GG, and speaking of new mares - here is my latest one by the lovely TB stallion Keen Falcon out of a Trakehner mare. She is due in the next week or so and will be bred back to Guaranteed Gold for a 3/4 TB foal and then I'll get her in the fall once her foal has been weaned

And thanks as well for the nice comments on her - very much appreciated! :)

And just checked and saw that her 2nd choice name was accepted which I REALLY liked as well!

She is now officially "Luminescent". I LOVE it as Pearlescent's daughter! :)

And ... it looks like the lovely Luminescent has been sold ... and ...

Everything should be finalized in the next few days on her ...

She is such a super nice filly and her new owner is over the moon thrilled to be getting her ... and the fact that they are clients and have GG foals already and just love them sealed the deal for them

I was going to be shutting Mare Stare down in the next few days, but since they are far enough away they cant come to visit, Im going to keep it up for a few more months. This will allow them to see her every day, at least in her stall! :)

Congratulations on her birth and sale! She really is a doll! Love the name too. The bay mare is pretty.
