Finally found him a wife of his own colour!

Postby Pennylane » Sat Jun 25, 2011 7:53 pm

After hunting around for the last year or so, we have finally found our stallion Shadow a wife of his own.

We are beyond thrilled to announce that we were just smitten over the opportunity to be able to purchase this very special mare to breed to him come next spring.

She is a 4 yr old TB and we have nick named her "Midnight"

She definately does need some meat and potatoes on that magnificent frame she sports but shouldn't take too long. Nice shade of black with white roaning thoughout. Should make a nice cross with Shadow.

Here are some random shots taken today.

and of course, Shadow himself!

Oh I see a small, quite auspicious white belly spot on her. Good! :D

Good looking girl -- and very definitely black, no question 'bout that!

Hey, Pennylane...I'm in the process of having one tested for coat colour, and if she really is black, as we think she is, when she becomes available there will be a visit to your boy, as well!

would love to show you some pictures, but she's not mine yet, and don't want to risk having others find out about her.

Congratulations Pennylane! As said when I got to see her in person - she is beautiful. I'm sure she and Shadow will make gorgeous kids!

No, I'm quite safe these days. I'm out of breeding for a couple of years. Dealing with some family matters is using up all the funds. And then some.

So how about if I just look forward to seeing pictures, if your deal goes through, and admire Pennylanes pretty girl too. She's such an elegant mare. I can't wait to see her when she has a bit of post track-fit weight on her.

Ooohhh Maureen!
I am so happy for you now!

Shadow is a very busy boy these days.

Post edited out of respect for one of the mare owners he just bred for as she wants to toot her own horn when the time is right.
