Truxton (Jackson's)

Postby Pan Zareta » Tue Sep 06, 2005 12:25 pm

Lucy, or Miles, or someone who can unlock if need be - I fielded a ? re. Truxton's damline in another forum a couple of days ago. Harrison has his 2d damsire as Lightfoot's Partner (1755). It's showing here as *Partner (GB, 1761). If this reflects subsequent research in correction to Harrison, please clue me in. If not, I'll correct it, if it can be unlocked. TIA

Just to further compliacte things....Bloodlines has 'Truxton', 1828, sired by Blackburn's Whip out of a mare by Buzzard, and 'Jackson's Truxton', 1800 by Diomed, out of the mare Nancy Coleman. We have both horses out of Nancy Coleman - either she was one heck of a mare, or we somehow got our Truxtons crossed.

Meanwhile, BL has the same pedigree for Latona as PQ has. You may want to run this by Chris, assuming you have yet to do so.....I tend to trust her word on such matters. I unlocked Latona for ya - give a yell when she's all set and I'll lock her up again. :)

By the way, Miles - the error message on locked horses gives a contact link for the research group that no longer works. :?

I changed it (Latona's ped.) & then I changed it back. I thought the Verrell ctf. specifically stated "Lightfoot's Partner", but it doesn't - just says "Old Partner", dammit. Harrison has "Lightfoot's" in brackets. Will pm Chris. Have discussed this line w/ her before, but it's been a while. Like about six years.

At least only ONE of the other Truxton's was added to Nancy Coleman's produce. I'll see if the Buzzard mare who was his dam is one that's already in the db here - or maybe you can tell from the BL db. I'm still waiting on password etc. from CP.

Latona can be locked up again. I changed her sire - apparently that's an inherited error in the BL db.

In regard to the dam of Truxton x Blackburn's Whip - Bruce just has "Mare by Buzzard" - no indication that he was an import. I think his dam was probably x Blackburn's Buzzard (x *Buzzard), but I wouldn't stake the ranch on it since Whip apparently covered mares by both.

All locked up. :) Thanks!

I'll leave the flock of Buzzards to your tender mercies....I took a peek at it, but quickly got confused and went scurrying back to the 20th century.

I think his dam was either Old Buzzard or Buzzard Mare17, but still can't plug in either one w/ a high degree of confidence. So I've left his dam side blank and put the info from Bruce in the 'other info' field for right now. If you prefer I can create Buzzard Mare21...

That sounds fine to me.....besides, without any other info about the damline to work with, it would just be another anonymous Buzzard mare for folks to link the wrong foals to.

Thanks! :)
