Akado

Postby SarahP » Sat Sep 17, 2005 7:53 am

Some of you may remember a while back I was looking for information on a horse named 'Akoda'. I was mistaken, the name of the horse I am looking for information on is AKADO.
I'm looking for foal records or any/all foals out of this horse.
Thanks! :D

The '95 colt by Opening Verse?

If so, the database notes have him at stud in Manitoba, but I can't find any listings for him. Perhaps one of our resident Canadians would know more.

If no-one else answers here, try asking over in the 'stallions' folder; that seems to get a bit more traffic. :)

Akado raced twice.

On June 13, 1998 he ran 5th of 6 on a sloppy track in a maiden race at Belmont.

Then he returned on July 10, 1998 to run 2nd of 12 as the favorite in a 1 mile turf race at Belmont.

William Mott was the trainer.

Winning margin was 3/4 of a length when he was 2nd, so you could gamble and order a winner's circle photo for the winning horse, "Weatherbird", and maybe catch a glimpse of Akado in the action photo.

Actually he would not probably be in the winner's circle photo but very often they have a "finish" picture and he might be in that one. Call Belmont Park and ask for the track photographer to start and see if they can sell you the finish picture for the race. They might also have a "stretch" photo of him since he was so close.
