Actual Birthdate?

I bought RockNMerle going on two years ago via CanterPA
I did not get his papers, as per stipulation of sale. Fine with me actually.
He is the love of my life. I was wondering though what his actual birthdate is? Is there a way to get this information? I dont have his tattoo but can get it. Also, is there any way to get his race record??

The number to the right in parentheses is his "highest" speed rating, 87, which is not supersonic (100+ is stakes, ~110+ is Classic).

He was born in '96 and unfortunately was not sold at auction so there would not be a catalog page online kicking around somewhere with his actual date of birth. He is a 10 year old now. You could have his tattoo looked by by the Jockey Club ($35, I think) and they could give you the exact date.

I think the basic pedigree reports from sites like Equineline & Equibase show the birthdate (at least, they used to). They only cost $5 or so.
