hey
looking for some possible stallion prospects for my mare GO HIGH. (peaks and valleys x misty mountians) i know peaks and valleys hasnt had many daughters foal yet but does anyone have some possible crosses maybe through MT livermore. i really have no idea what direction i need to go with her. i do know i need to breed speed into her, and bigger bones. she is a bit forward at the knee but fairly correct all over. She is a sprinter winning at 6f. and is extremely hard headed. I do breed to race and train myself. commercial value is important at this point. price range really just depends on how good a cross i can come up with. any suggestions, oh state isnt important either.
stallion suggestions

this sounds like a mare with a lot of potential, the second dam cascapedia was quite a runner and a good producer. I think if i owned her i would try to breed to a sire from the mr. prospector line, will add some brilliance, and you may note that cascapedia produced a stakes winner when bred to mr. p.
One of my top choices would be cryptoclearance, not very commercial, but can get some fine runners. See the great mare Azeri. This would also give you a 5X5 rasmussen factor cross to the 1965 broodmare of the year pocahontas. Crypto stands for i believe $15,000.
Some other sons of MR. P that may work, Jade Hunter-$10,00, Crafty Prospector-$25,000,
Smart Strike-$20,000, Pioneering-$5,000, Cape Canaveral-$10,000, and E Dubai-$15,000.
Look at Carson City as a sire who has been very successful as an example of the Mr. P cross with the Blushing Groom line, this is what you would be getting.
Two horses in your state of New Mexico from the Mr. P line are, Ghostly Moves and Mr. Groush, I don't know anything about them as far as their success at stud however. Best of luck, let me know what you do.

Hi Brooke,
Nice mare. If we look to the pedigree of Peaks And Valleys, we find a cross of Nijinsky and Blushing Groom, who form an incredible international nick. One very interesting thing they have in common is an affinity with Storm Cat.
Storm cat and Nijinsky have combined in the the GI winners Black Minnaloushe (also Irish Classic winner), Nebraska Tornado (also French Classic winner), High Yield (Hopeful/Blue Grass winner), and Grand Armee (Aussie GIW). They also combined in G2 winner and highly promising young sire Tale of the Cat.
Storm Cat and Blushing Groom have combined in European Champion Giant's Causeway, Test (GI) winner Missed The Storm, Prix De Salamamdre (GI) winner Abjabr, and recent Lane's End Futurity (GI) winner Consolidator.
Peaks and Valleys would also return Storm Cat the speed influences Spy Song and his son Crimson Satan.
Note also Peaks and Valleys has Never Bend and Amerigo in his 4th generation. Never Bend is found in the best son (Favorite Trick) of Phone Trick, and Amerigo is found in the best daughter (Phone Chatter) of Phone Trick.
Turning to the damside of Go High; we find the damsire is Al Nasr, a stallion bred the same cross of Northern Dancer and the great French-bred stallion Klairon that produced Razzi Cat, the dam of the very fast (1,600 metres in 1:31.83 against a 4xtime Arg. GI winning colt) Argentenian filly Randy Cat (by Roy), and the 2xtime GI winning Argentenian sprinter Rocking Trick (by Phone Trick).
Then the next damsire of Go High is Chieftain, a very good nick with Storm Cat. They've combined in not one, but two champions: European Champion Giant's Causeway and Canadian Champion 2YO filly Silken Doll, who has already thrown BC Sprint (GI) winner Speightstown to the cover of Gone West.
An excellent source of both Phone Trick and, in honesty more importantly, Storm Cat is the aforementioned Rocking Trick (o/o a Storm Cat mare), who once ran 5f under 130lb. in the very good time of 54.33.
You can ask the stallion owner (forum member Madelyn) for conformational information and hopefully a photo.

We have Shares in a Stallion named EQUALITY, who is by Mt. Livermore out of Equilibrate (who is by Gone West X Strike A Balance) He is VERY closely bred like Peaks And Valleys (Mt. Lovermore X Strike A Balance)....
Well my point is that we bred 2 mares to him (EQUALITY) last year.. a Storm Cat Grand daughter (Ray's Rainbow, by Future Storm) and a Never Bend Line mare Ceasefire (fr) ( by Doyoun) and booked 2 more to him this year.. one being a Tomorrow'c Cat Filly....
llbean is right on with the crosses he posted

wow
thankyou so much for all the informed insight, i really want to make a good decision with this mare. she's really a wonderful mare not to mention my first actual runner. I was not aware of the storm cat crosses with this bloodline. Very interesting! really sounds like a obvious nick. i will for sure start lookin into this. Thanks so much!
