"Un"

Postby Heidilady » Thu Mar 22, 2007 8:49 pm

This is supposedly a half-brother to the dam of El Oficial (the 2yo sales topper) and I thought they had to have 3 letters minimum in the name so I'm assuming the 2yo colt is unnamed and someone put the abbreviation in there. Is that the case? Is he named with something else?

He wasn't the only one. Someone put in a dozen two year old colts "named" 'Un'.

All gone now.

I thought I saw on TVG a horse named
Id.

There have been a couple named 'Id'. No 'Un's, though.

I don't recall seeing anything about a character minimum before, but it could be a case-by-case thing.

Maybe it's changed so that horses used be able to have that for a name but I honestly think the Jockey Club has a max letter and a minimum of 3. "You" is one of the shortest I've seen.
