I need some help with the progeny of the mare Dainty, by Galopin. According to what's here on PQ, she has the following foals:
1899 Tidy (GB), filly by Suspender
1902 Santa Catalina (GB), filly by Suspender
1904 Adelinette (USA), filly by Melton
1909 Zenith, colt by Sardanapale
1912 Orietta (Fr), filly by Le Sagittaire
1916 Heroisme (Fr), colt by Verdun
1917, Arethuse (Fr), filly by Sardanapale
Dainty was foaled in 1895, so these births are within the range of reason. There are a lot of holes in the production record, however, and Adelinette is a puzzler -- is she really an American-bred, in which case her dam was exported to the USA and then went to France? That's possible, given the timing; Major Belmont sent a lot of his mares to France during the American racing blackout as did Herman Duryea, so if either gentleman owned the mare, that would clear up a lot of the mystery. The other problem is that my TesioPower database shows the 1899 daughter, Tidy, as the dam of Adelinette, Orietta, and Arethuse. Any help getting this conflict sorted out appreciated.

According to ASB v.XL, Adelinette was imported from France to the USA, and her pedigree is definitely Melton x Dainty. It does not appear that Dainty was ever in the US, as she isn't marked imported by the ASB.
As for Tidy being the dam for the other two, I don't have any French studbooks to check on that. I do have the GSB & ASB covering 1912, and I can tell you that Tidy wasn't producing foals in England or the USA at that time, so she has no alibi.
However, if the Tesio Power was wrong about Adelinette, perhaps the other two were also mistakes.

Thanks. I love my TesioPower as a pedigree program, but the database that comes with it is woefully inaccurate and I am correcting things as I find them. I generally prefer double checking before just going with Pedigree Query, though, as there's some mistakes here and there too.
