Stockholder Mare9's dam needs to be changed to Pacolet Mare6

Postby Pan Zareta » Wed Jun 01, 2005 9:59 am

The damline currently shown for the Stockholder Mare9 is in error, skipping her 2nd dam, the (Cage's) Dragon Mare. Per ASB ii:333 the former's damline is:
by Pacolet [Pacolet Mare6 in the db]
by Dragon
by Truxton
by Rinaldo
by Hadley's Arab
an imported Spanish mare
This line is specifically repeated in the entries ASB i,ii for Stockholder Mare9's daus. Jane Mitchell, Miss Bowie, Southside & Velvet, and there is no evidence for a Pacolet mare o/o a Jackson's Truxton mare, o/o a mare by Rinaldo, etc., the line shown for Pacolet Mare9, who is currently shown as the dam of Stockholder Mare9. (There are also no corrections to this line by F. Harrison, at least not in Early Am. Turf Stock.)

I'd make the change myself, but I'd already entered too many addt'l. produce for Stockholder Mare9 before I noticed the error to do that.

Many thanks in advance - there are only, maybe, 2 or 3 people on the planet other than myself interested in this unnumbered (even for research purposes) tail female line, but it is one of the most prolific and persistent (still) of such lines, with many descendants not yet entered here.

(one more small indulgence - Mary Queen of Scot's dau. by Gerow is entered ASB i as Geroine, not Geroline, as shown here)

Changed the dam to Pacolet Mare6, and deleted Pacolet Mare9. How about PM 10? She's also in as being from a Truxton mare, albiet a different one than PM9 had. If she checks out, I may delete & re-enter her so there won't be a gap in the numbers (that makes me crazy).

Held off on changing Geroline/Geroine, pending further research - I've heard of spelling errors in earlier ASBs, and want to be totally sure before I get all zap-happy. Is she in any later volumes that you can find?

Have you ever discussed this pet damline of yours with Chris Matthes over at Bloodlines.net? She's made a study of early American damlines, numbered and otherwise. :)

If PM 10's 2nd dam is the Opossum filly then she's a distinct and separate individual, per ASB ii. Sorry (but thanks - the gaps in the numbering bug me too).

Errors in the ASB????? NO!!!!!!!
In the entries for her dau. Wagonette, (ASB ii & iii) the spelling is consistently Geroine - but that could just be repetition of an original error.

Absolutely (I found the tbheritage group shortly after its inception and was almost pathetically happy to know there were actually other people like me). Was crushed to learn the Hadley Arab eluded the bredth & depth of even Chris' knowledge & resources. I'm interested in all the still unnumbered Americans because SO MANY of them pass through (or disappear into) Texas - and then turn up in Triple D or Newman stock. Go figure.... I'm tempted to propose numbering them for research purposes using 'T'. :D
