I think sooo... She is a Vying Victor kid. Do you think she is worth adding to my collection? It's one of those pity purchases.. Covered in warts feet are curling. I might just grab her to get her out of there. Quarter horse breeders so not used to how much a tb eats horrors gasp! Can't help it I am a sucker for the birds with broken wings.....Madelyn your my hero!!!!!!

Pedigree is decent enough, especially for sport horse with Grey Dawn/Herbager close on the dam side. Second dam was half to Tinchen's Prince, a $953K winner by Cornish Prince. Depends entirely on size/conformation. Pity can be a really good thing, I have picked up some awesome bloodline mares with great families due to pity... God rewards those who have heartstrings to pull (underneath level heads)..

Sorry to jump in here & go O/T - BUT THAT IS ONE OF MY PET PEEVES. The whole notion of approaching feeding on the basis of breed in the first place! We have TB's QH's & crosses (light work, sport, & pleasure) and imho based upon more years of experience than I care to disclose here, feeding MUST be based upon body type & individual need/metabolism. In a VERY general way yes, QH do eat less than TB - but one of our QH mares dropped a baby 20 yrs ago that grew into a rangy 17.2h boy that out-ate any TB I've ever fed and it was STILL hard to keep weight on him. Imho, the contemporary QH is ~95% selectively bred TB - and their need for feed doesn't change just b/c their registry does.

End of Rant

If you haven't grown up by the time you reach my age (48) we might begin to worry... but I told my Dad the other day -- they always thought I would outgrow my girlish obsession with horses -- I haven't outgrown that yet....

Anyone out there looking for greys? I visited yesterday/am working on a dispersal of nearly thirty grey horses... stallions and mares mostly.

I sale prepped the 95 foal Victorian Flag. She was a big pretty thing. How does this one look? Aside from under fed and warty...
