Bandy5 by Clockfast

Lucy, per Chris' opinion that Bandy5's 5th dam (Barb Mare per ASB) was likely Muslinface, I edited Bandy5's 3rd dam (now Jolly Roger Mare11, prev Jolly Roger[sic]6) and merged a couple of Mortons Traveller Mares to reflect that lineage. (Muslinface/a79 was already there, as the Little David mare had already been entered per Chris' research on the line). I *think* I managed to do this w/out leaving any unnecessary gaps in numbering of duplicate names. Did notice there's a gap in the Jolly Roger Mare's (#21 is open) - if I can find one that hasn't been entered yet I'll fill it up.

Nicely done. :)

I thought Muslin Face was two words, though? Could easily be mistaken, as it's a century or so out of my element.

It was already in the db as Muslinface. Chris uses "Muslin Face" & so does Bruce. Harrison uses "Muslinface" and "Muslin-Face".

You pick. :D

Me?! Puh-leeze. I have a hard enough time picking a pair of socks.

But, if she's been in the DB as one word for this long without the alternate spellings popping up as duplicates, it should be fine as-is. The poor critter had a dreadful name, no matter how you slice it.

True. It doesn't carry the graceful, elegant connotations of, say, Fair Rachel, but it's definitely better than some. I ran across one 19th or early 20th cent. mare named - no kidding - Sweetest When Naked. Haven't put her in yet...

When I rename Yorick Mare2 I'll use "Muslin Face" (she's at the root of the conclusion that [old] Muslin Face & the Barb Mare of Bandy's pedigree are one and the same - she's in Bruce 2x, once as Yorick Mare w/ correct damline & once as Muslin Face by Yorick out of young Jenny Cameron).
