Postby AVA » Wed Jun 29, 2005 10:00 pm

I have posted on here before and usually just get a long list of things I don't understand....in just plain words...could anyone explain in real simple terms for me - I realize Tuxedo about name JC name, wasn't too sucessful on the track but I am doing some sport horse breeding with MBOTB (mare) and any info good or bad suggestions - whatever would be great. i thank you so much - but please make it easy for me. Her Dam was MICHELLEBELLE - maybe lowercase? whatever.... Thanks guys....

I don't know anything about RJ's Harri's race rcd., but I have seen him. What exactly are you wanting to know? I've been to RedFox several times and I have a 2yr. old Spotlight filly.

I guess i just wanted to know whether my mare out of him has a decent pedigree. MYBELLE OF THEBALL. I really don't know my pedigree's yet but she has produced a beautiful colt and I'd like to use her as a sport horse breeding mare, i guess i was just looking for info on her pedigree more or less but in easy to understand terms... She is a fantastic mover, really smart girl etc.... and her foals are beautiful but to sell at a fair price I just wanted to know kind of an idea whether she's got a good pedigree or just plain or not great for sport horses. I have bred her to a DWB and the colt is stunning...but being new at this I want to be informed.

You can see her and her foals on my webshots:

  I was just about to post the APR on her, which is I guess what you don't understand!

To respond to your question, your mare doesn't really have names commonly known for sporthorses, ie: Raise A Natives were often prone to ankle problems, and you have to go back in the sire line to find Sir Gaylord. That being said, Tbred pedigree and the horse standing in front of you may be very different things. If the mare has nice conformation, good size, bone, etc., you can reasonably expect her foals to also. Warmbloods sell on conformation and movement, not the Tbred side of their pedigree... and not speed on the track or blacktype in the family. And as you said, the DWB colt is lovely....

As stated above, I wouldn't be too concerned with "Tuxedo's" pedigree since your breeding xbreds. I'll say one thing, you'd better like giant horses if you're crossing his line with warmbloods
