Kilduggan h x Dr. Cardenas (1923)

Postby Pan Zareta » Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:38 pm

Lucy, do you have a Kilduggan x Dr. Cardenas in the older APR or a 1930-ish ASB? I'm looking for his foaling date & dam - have old papers showing Kilduggan as TB & his dam as "English mare" - QH-speak for imported.

As always, many thanks!

Sorry, but I'm coming up blanks on this one!

He's not in the 1920 APR, and that dreaded Studbook Gap of mine covers 1917-1937. :? I can tell you he wasn't among Dr. Cardenas' foals from 1938-1941, unless he was named very late. Couldn't find him listed among the sires in later ASBs, and he's not in Hogan's Index to SWs as a runner or as a sire. Checked my 1940 Horses In Training, too, no luck. :(

Thanks Lucy! The filly my father-in-law's QH mare produced w/ him was typically TB in conformation and she produced foals that were true to that type. If I had to guess, I'd say Kilduggan probably was indeed a TB, but for some reason never JC registered.
