Swiss Cheese

By Dotted Swiss out of Affectation. Can't find any progeny on her and she's quite the accomplished mare. If she does have offspring I'd love to get any offspring they themselves have had into the database as well.

She never made it to the breeding shed, I'm afraid.

According to the 1971 American Racing Manual (which covers the year 1970), Swiss Cheese 'fractured a leg in a workout September 25 and had to be destroyed'. :(

:( That's so sad... she was a tail-female to Alcibiades and actually to the lone, royally bred, daughter of Man O'War and Alcibiades, Salaminia, herself a reine de course like her dam. I mean if you think of it, Salaminia's existence would be like a filly born as the result of breeding Ruffian to Secretariat. I'm hoping there's still descendents of the pairing out there. It's really a rare thing to have ahold of esp. given that Man O'War didn't go to many outside mares of such quality. Salaminia won races like the Alabama and produced 2 stakes winners and 5 stakes placed runners so she's done pretty well in the family business.
