Madelyn: Thanks so much. You are a sweetheart. :D I was sent this mare to breed to REBOUND. The VA owner had just purchased her from a MO farm/estate dispersal sale and didn't know much about her other than she is very well put together and definitely type A. If the facts are right, she has never been bred or carried a foal full term. Hope all is well with you. We lost two mares in foal this season. Tragic circumstances. It took me a good three months to bounce back emotionally. Gas prices and preparing the farm for the winter has got a vise grip on us. At least, we're not on the Gulf Coast. The VA county that we live in was hit by the aftermath of Camille in 1969. We had over 30 dead out of a population of 14,000 due to flooding from over 29" of rain. Our Buffalo Station Farm is 500' above sea level and it was spared. We didn't see anything of Katrina and thank the good Lord for that. There were a great many nervous souls around here. Now everyone is praying for the current survivors and their love ones. Thanks again.

Shammy. So sorry about your mares. Things are fried here, had a horrible drought and been feeding hay all summer... but all the ladies in the broodmare paddock have their maternity bellies on.

Should be a very exciting winter and spring (first foal is due JAN 10TH!!)
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

We've got the same drought here. I've got to be careful what I wish for, but there is talk that the storm in the Atlantic called "Ophelia" is going to give us some relief around Thursday. I hope relief is all it is. I'll be looking forward to your foal announcements after the first of the year. Best wishes, as always.
