what is the link that nicks the pedigree, what is the common ground between the mares on the dams side? info needed please for research
Not sure quite what you are asking, but a key figure is WM's granddam Lady Be Good, a modern foundation mare. Excellent pedigree overall, but I think the spark that drives her "mare power" was the close relatives War Admiral and Eight Thirty 3x2. Both were excellent broodmare sires in their own rights; together, recrossing Man o' War, *Rock Sand, *Fairy Gold, and *Bathing Girl as they do, they're dynamite.
WM's dam Uncommitted carries this theme of closely related horses coming together as she was by Buckpasser, whose dam Busanda is bred on very similar lines to Lady Be God's dam Better Self but on the reverse cross. Busanda was of course by War Admiral out of a daughter of *La Troienne who was sired by a grandson of Black Toney; Better Self was by a son of Black Toney and *La Troienne out of a daughter of War Admiral. Fun stuff!

"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher...You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse." C. S. Lewis
