Foundation percentages in quarter horses

Postby Bondama » Wed Jan 11, 2006 5:53 am

Just bought a well-bred cremello quarter horse stud and for purposes of advertising his percentage of foundation breeding, was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get that figured out BESIDES going to the AQHA and paying their "research" fee for it. I know this is mainly a thoroughbred site, but as we all know QH and TB are related, and I am just hoping some other QH people frequent here and might have a clue or two. My boy has quite a number of 100%-ers in the face papers, and I know that that number gets reduced by the number of TB's that are included, and he must be over 80% to be considered foundation. I probably should have done this before I got him <lol>, but he's special and I would have gotten him no matter what his percentage might be. His job is to take care of my TB mares in our appendix breeding facility. Thanks for any hints.
