Not looking good for Michigan Horse Racing

Postby diomed » Tue Nov 02, 2004 7:06 pm

Just saw the exit polls for Michigan's Proposal 1...56% yes 44%no....
No means slots in racetracks=more money for the industry...
Yes means the people can oppose slots in the track. Which they will in my neck of the woods considering the high percentage of religious nuts in my area....Sigh...There goes our chance to make any money and Goodbye horse racing from the state of Michigan....
Im still so angry....

Stronach doesn't give up that easy, and will dangle a factory in their faces to see if there is another way to get the added funding. Too bad though. I would love to see some Binalong and Mr Katowice babies run on the turf. :D

Stronach said he will build the track with or without the slots... Let's see now if he keeps his word......

Racing in Michigan

Stronach is quickly back peddling according to sources at a meeting held with the Office of the Racing Commissioner. It's highly doubtful that racing will survive in Michigan I'm sorry to say.
