Trying to book to a stallion next year maybe a slightly different ballgame...
It will be interesting to see what next year's breeding season brings, especially when 2009 stud fees are announced in the upcoming months. Some of the articles that I've been reading in BH, TT and online indicate that some stud fees could be reduced and not as many mares will be lining up to be bred. (I don't know if this will affect top-tier stallions much.)
It might make it easier for a mare with less "credentials" to get into a stallion's book, at a better deal or with "incentives".
Stallion farms are difficult to deal with for breeding mares

Booking in 2009
I think that deals on stud fees are going to be available when the stallions don't book full so quickly. I called a stud farm and was aking for a deal a new one they said no deal however they will do live foal stands and nurses and that farm is a pay by 10th month of the year bred. So I think they will change their attitudes alittle as the months pass by.
Thanks,
Kathy
