You know what - body type is still the most critical element in mating, in my view. Officer is long backed, and long bodied, with questionable legs, but, can he ever put the run in them!

If your mare matches up body wise, go for it!

What will Officer's fee be next year, after leading the frosh class?

Its a friends mare. Thanks for your reply. I don't know much about Officer. The same owner still has Secret Affair's gelding, Real Trooper that won $100,000 is 6 starts, on the board all 6 times. He is by Subordination. Hopefully she'll produce something like him.
Just trying to get thoughts on this stuff as I am still new to it. I haven't heard much discussion about Officer, but maybe people just don't like his looks.
