Breeding Suggestions

I have a mare Thunder Reason (Thunder Gulch-Reason to Give) who I am looking to breed to a stallion in Kentucky with a stud fee up to $30,000. She is average size (15.3) and correct. She is currently in foal to Chapel Royal and even though I like that matchup, I want to avoid putting all my eggs in one basket with an unproven stallion. (How are his weanlings looking?)
I have thought about Seattle Fitz, Alphabet Soup, Menifee, Doneraile Court, and Golden Missile. She has 2 lines of Raise a Native so I would not want to add to that. I like bringing in another line of Lalun/Be Faithful and/or Seattle Slew's Hail to Reason, Round Table, and Bold Ruler. All the 3 strains with Slew would be sex-balanced with Thunder Reason.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

Doneraile Court apparently had fertility issues this year.

I saw that he only had 69% live foals. Apparently he has a low libido.

I don't know if his libido, ie willingness to cover mares, is what is in question. I do know someone who trekked to Doneraile's court four times this year, with a mare in tow who has had no problems in the past, and ended up with an open mare.

Casper10,
Is this a race or sell question?

To race.
Even though the Chapel Royal choice does not seem like it, I don't have a strong desire to have a real precocious foal who will race at 2.

If it's to Race, then I like Holy Bull of all your selections so far.

Of the sire you listed I excluded Seattle Fitz because there is no progeny running yet. I also did not include Donerail Court because his progeny info wasnt where I could get to it. I like Doneraile Court though and he has produced some runners.
I did not care for Golden Missle percent of starters at 54. His average earning per starter and start were 31K and 5K. So I prefer Alaphabet Soup on the choices you provided. 73% starters averaging over 3 mil per year in progeny earnings in 6 crops. % of stakes winners is higher also. 65K avg per starter, 4k per start.
Based on your comments about Lalun I also looked at and think Skip Away and Pleasant Tap would be worth your time to look at.
Skip Away 71% winners 2.2 mil avg over 5 crops. Avg per starter 51K avg per start 3.7K
Pleasant Tap 74% starters, avg 3 mil per year with 11 crops. Avg earnings per starter 93K avg per start 5.6k
You can look at all the stallion data for these sires at

Consider Arch, who duplicates Alydar and Lalun.
In Maryland is Louis Quatorze, no Raise a Native, but Lalun through Distinctive, as well as other nice linebreeding.

Officer might work, although who knows what his fee will be in 2007.

Henthorn,
I liked Arch, but wasn't sure how the Alydar duplicate would be perceived.

Casper, I'm not aware of many inbred Alydar horses, so I can't speak to the successes or failures thereof. Althea was a champion daughter of Alydar out of Broodmare of the Year Courtly Dee by Never Bend, son of Lalun. It seems in this hypo that the descendants of Alydar are quality and sound; might be worth a look, maybe discuss with Claiborne management. It looks pretty special to me, might juice up the offspring.

Last year they were restricting him to stakes mares, but I don't know about now, since his fee is higher.

Thanks for suggesting Arch. I saw Arch last week and am considering him for my other mare, Pleasant Laur. With the year Arch is having, topped off last weekend with Pine Island probably wrapping up champion 3-year old filly honors, his stud fee will probably be hiked to $25 - $30,000. He is a very impressive looking horse and has a presence about him. Does anyone know if he had soundness issues? He only started 7 times and Kris S. had 5 starts.
Regarding Thunder Reason, a cross with Arch would bring 3 crosses of Raise a Native in the first 5 generations. Considering that she tails to the Broadway/Flitabout family - not the soundest family - I would not want to add anymore unsound lines.
