Mating Advice: Galway Song

Postby ZiaLand » Sun Oct 01, 2006 3:23 pm

After the 2007 breeding season I plan to retire Galway Song (Irish Tower x Soprano Miss), so I would appreciate any thoughts on hypomatings with the stallions below. I'm breeding for NM bred sales.

Gold Case (Forty Niner - Silent Account x Private Account), 12 YO
Devon Lane (Storm Cat - To The Hunt x Relaunch), 13 YO
Tricky Creek (Clever Trick - Battle Creek Girl x His Majesty) 20 YO
Avenue of Flags (Seattle Slew - Beautiful Glass x Pass The Glass) 18 YO

Also looking at Wild Deputy (Wild Again - Hear The Bells x Deputy Minister), 13 YO. Galway's champion (Blizzard) was sired by Wild Again. Any comments welcome.

Much thanks,
Laurie

OK, no hits. Let me rephrase. 8)

Any comments or opinions on Tricky Creek x Galway Song:

hypo includes:

4x5 to Flower Bowl & Ribot through His Majesty and Graustark
4x4 to Neartic through Icecapade and Theme Song (tail-male and tail- female) plus an addition cross in 6 of Northern Dancer
Linebreeding to Bold Irish, et al

Thanks!

Hi, Zialand. The conduit mare info looks like a lot of stamina compared to speed, even though Tricky Creek is a sprinter. Love the Ribot/Flower Bowl crosses and mixing Nearctic sons and daughters. She looks like a very nice mare.

Thanks Henthorn.

Yes, Galway has had quite a career both on the track and off it. :D I appreciate your feedback.

I lik Tricky Creek for her, but also Wild Deputy.

But if I had to vote for just one, it would be Tricky Creek.

Thanks, Madelyn. I think I'm leaning that way, too.

Wild Deputy is a really good looking, balanced individual who would be a good match for her physically. We're going to look at Tricky Creek soon. I understand he's not as stocky and coarse as his photos show and has more classic conformation, so he may also be a good physical match for her, as well.

Thanks again,
Laurie
