Looking for opinions on this mare's pedigree. Daughter of Slewvescent out of Ashland Rose, a SW by Flying Paster.

She seems to be from good California bloodlines, but I'm not all that familiar with Slewvescent or Flying Paster.
What stallions might cross well with her Boldnesian linebreeding (particularly NM stallions)?
Has linebreeding to Sweet Tooth been successful?
She's currently in foal to Devon Lane. Comments?
Thanks.

If you wanted to venture into Texas two stallions that would be a good fit for your mare would be Uncle Abbie and Special Rate. Uncle Abbie has proven his cross with Seattle Slew line mares with stakes winner Wrenice. Oviously one stakes winner does not make a nick, but both of these stallions with their pedigrees would be a good match.
Uncle Abbie is currently the leading sophomore stallion in the four state southwestern region. He appears to be a very good cross with Seattle Slew mares as the previous post mentioned. I am the syndicate manager for Uncle Abbie and would be happy to follow up with more information if you are interested. Please send me a PM if you might cross into Texas for a stallion.

Thanks for the suggestions on Uncle Abbie. I wasn't aware of this freshman and I'll research him further. He sounds promising. I'll also take a look at Special Rate.
Yes, Texas breds are a consideration for me, but unfortunately it does cause complications because NM bred mares have to remain in state during gestation except for special permission to go to sales. I'm leery of transporting a mare with a very young foal so far.
Has inbreeding to Seattle Slew this close-up been successful? I wonder if G1 Goldmine can produce stats on that.
Much thanks,
Laurie

Stallions you may consider
Have you thought about Scatmandu line breeding Sweet Tooth 4x4?

Take a look at the breeding on this two year old filly by Uncle Abbie

All her money has been won in Texas where the purses are much lower than you enjoy in New Mexico. She is part of the reason that Uncle Abbie is being suggested for your mare. I do understand your reservations about shipping far from home, if your mare has a foal at her side. I am lucky, in that Uncle Abbie is only about 45 minutes away for me. Still, I have sent my mares and foals there and never been disappointed.
Best of luck in whatever you decide.

Keith, yes I did notice that linebreeding to Sweet Tooth through Scatmandu. Thanks for your suggestion. Interesting cross, but I wish Scat's record as a sire was better.
Bedouwia, I just loaded Wrenice into my virtual stable so I can track her. The Seattle Slew linebreeding certainly seems to be working for her. She has Buckpasser through two daughters, too.
Much thanks,
Laurie

Hi Aurora,
I probably will send her back to Devon Lane in 2008 or 2009, which will give her first foal time to hit the track before the second goes to sale. More upside potential that way.
Meanwhile, I think she's got a lot of strengths in her pedigree to work with. I'm not finding a lot of stallions that I feel are a good match for her, though.

Just got the results on Wrenice (by Uncle Abbie) with a nice, apparently easy win in the Houston Chronicle Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park yesterday (Nov. 18 ) by 9 lengths. Not a huge stakes, but she can chalk up another $27,000 in earnings.
Quite the 2YO filly. I hope to see more of her as a 3YO.
I'll post something on the racing segment, too.

New Mexico breeders ought to take a look at the new horse at JEH--MINISTER ERIC. He was a genuine top class racehorse, winning the San Fernando Breeders Cup H.-G2, and placing in the Breeders Cup Juvenile and Del Mar Futurity. Sired by OLD TRIESTE (A.P. Indy), out of a Deputy Minister Mare; 2nd dam by Mr. Prospector, 3rd dam by Northern Dancer. The ALABLUE female family.
If he looks the part, I don't think you can find better value for $3,000.
