You might agree...that the thoroughbred game can be tough to play and is often unforgiving.

That said...I suggest that any stallion prospect whose 3rd dam is by Gee Whiz, and 4th dam is by Condiment raises two too many red flags for my taste.

It might be wise to let others spend their time and money chasing this dream.

Hi, Dram. Imperialism was a very good racehorse from a blue-collar background. I agree with FOS that a little research into the ancestry might be helpful. In fact, Gee Whiz and Condiment are good sources of soundness. Gee Whiz in fact started 124 times. Several minor stakes winners and placers are throughout that corner of the pedigree. The other 7/8 of the pedigree is stronger.

Langfuhr hasn't yet established himself as a dominant stallion or broodmare sire, and his get don't sell well at auction. So depending on your objectives and finances, you may want to look elsewhere before settling on him. Remember, the stud fee is only a down payment on future expenses for your longterm investment.

BEWARE the weakest links...in this case, they're MUCH too weak for me.

Invaluable wisdom.

I had plans to go to him this year, but changed my mind mainly due to langfur not proven as yet. But, He still is worth looking at. Good luck so many stallions to choose from wish I had lots of mares lol.... then we could take a chance.
