What is the ideal conduit mare profile?

I look for balance, but it all depends on what you are looking for in a runner/breeder. There a profiles that indicate sprinters, and profiles that indicate distance horses, and profiles that lean toward grass, or artificial surfaces. None are 100% accurate, but do hold true a high percentage of the time. The profiles are simply an aid in pinpointing aptitudinal ranges.

For the most part, runners with proportionally high "Stout" points seem to be doing well on the artificial surfaces, although I am still gathering data on the Hollywood Park meet. The same holds true a majority of the time for grass.
Louis Arthur, for instance, has high "Brilliant" points, but his "Stout" points are higher than his "Intermediate", "Classic", or "Professional" numbers, indicating that he may do well as a sire for the new artificial surfaces, particularly with mares that add "Stout" contributions.

Seriously, this is very interesting and please keep us posted. As time goes on, it will be fascinating to see how artificial surfaces change the breeding industry. Give it 10 more years and I wonder where the dirt speed specialist sires will be.
