Angel Bay

A little background... I picked up a mare named Angel Bay (El Angelo-Ogama Bay) for absolutely nothing. She had a bad skin infection which is now clearing up...
Anyway, the foal she's carrying has no use to me and will be given to a friend as an eventer but her pedigree was interesting enough to me to make her a nice little pet and "project" mare.
I've pretty much made up my mind to send her to Northern Spur but any other suggestions are welcomed.
As it stands, i'll be going to Maria's Mon, Bluegrass Cat, and now Northern Spur.

What a combination.

You could take a glance at Artie Schiller for Angel Bay..I've been looking for a 19-b mare for my horse Rocking Trick for ages.. wherever did you find her??

I think Northern Spur is a great choice. As you know, you get the RF factor with Lulan 5x5 and Thong 4x5. In addition, you get Almahmoud 5x6x6. Interesting facts are that RF thru Lulan produces stakes horse 25% of the time. RF thru Thong produces 25.9% stakes winners. RF tru Almamoud produces 22 % stakes winners.
Inexpensive sire with a great chance to upgrade your mare.

PS: I have enjoyed your pedigree blog.

Thanks Madelyn and Rick. Much appreciated.
Madelyn, I picked her up right before you picked up that mare in Keeneland Nov. She was the mare with the skin problem that went through the ring and got ZERO bids.
I had her vet checked within 10 minutes and she scoped completely clean and now that her coat is coming back, she's a good looking mare. Nice lines and angles, a tad small and narrow, but other than that, a real solid type.
$300 dollars.
Rick, we're on the same page. He brings in every angle that I think re-inforces her pedigree.

That was some kind of day at the sale, huh? I've rarely seen anything like that.

Yeah, it was. There was a lot of "trash" mares going for little but every now and then you saw a nice just slip through the cracks.
I was only there that late in the sale because a friend was buying for a regional stallion he's standing... I had done all my shopping in the first 4 days, but goodness, I may need to start hanging out at the end of big sales more often.

That is the way I would go for the linebreeding RF to two superior mares as others have already pointed out.
Madelyn, is there a purpose trying to get a 19b family mare to Rocking Trick other than they would both be ITF 19b? I have a 19b filly in training and it is a family you don't see often ITF.

19-b is the actual line.. Angel Bay hooks back up with Rocking Trick's female family at Nell. It's a theory I want to try out.
Hey, for an interesting RF breeding through a really superior female, check out Loping Along, in foal to Pure Prize. She is for sale for $25K, I believe. The resulting foal is 2x4 Blitey.
