Postby clh » Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:11 pm

Yeh! I've got two of my mares booked (contracts are in the mail)! One is going to Artie Schiller and one is going to Good Reward. Now to finish up with the other four!

you probably already provided this info when you were chosing a sire, but I'd love to see the hypo matings on these to see your decision's pedigree!

Toccet02 - since I've spilled my guts all over the Kee Jan Sale thread I will post the mares and their mates once I have them all booked. By the way - the SS mare is in foal to Toccet this year :)

And I'm STRESSING over SIX???? How do you do it? I love Powerscourt! Thought about him but had trouble finding one that really worked well.

MARE THREE IS BOOKED: Got one going to Andromeda's Hero.

BTW - I'm beginning to see that my initial thoughts did not end up being who I am going to - what is up with that?

Added a new one and got her booked right away. I adopted a filly named The End is Clear from the New York Horse Rescue and she left this morning to go to Halo's Image. I am excited about the mating and about the NYHR.

It's starting to be the busy season for the horse transport folks, huh?! My usual transporter was stuck in Oklahoma with the icy weather for two weeks, and is just now able to get going. Most of the training facilities near here were unable to even let the horses leave the barn for fear of injury. Thankfully my two current trainees were stabled at Oaklawn with good weather, and at a farm with an Equicizer that had no safe use of the track itself. The automated walker was able to keep them in some useful form of training despite the weather problems.

Yeh! All of them are booked - contracts either signed or in the mail.

Let me first say many thanks to all the folks who offered advice, suggestions and gentle nudges as well as all the folks who were brutally honest about the mares. It is appreciated and all of your comments were taken to heart and thought out (honestly!). I mentioned that alot of my first choices ended up not being who I went to - am not sure what happened but after much discussion here on the homefront and with thoughts geared toward having sound, healthy babies that someone will be able to take to the races these are our choices. I know, I know - we may have overbred some of the mares but our thinking on this was rationale - the younger mares needed someone decent to go to because statistically the best foals are the first few out of the mare (true or not who knows?) and for the older mare we figured she needed one more shot at a good commercial stallion before we drop her down.

Allou by Seattle Slew out of Fun Crowd - she is booked to Good Reward. She is in foal now to Toccet and is due in May. Thought we liked the Seattle Slew - Storm Cat cross plus there is alot of other crosses in there as well.

McCaskill by Copelan out of Bally Bis (IRE) - she is booked to Suave and is currently open this year. I love the Copelan - AP Indy cross.

Anna K. by Boston Harbor out of On The Tree Top - she is booked to Andromeda's Hero and is in foal to Medallist. It looks good physically and on paper.

Laird's Honor by Honor Grades out of Laird's Cup - she is booked to Suave as well. Loved the 4x4 My Charmer and 4x4 Weekend Surprise - we'll see how it works. m She is in foal to Even the Score.

Ocumare by Slew o' Gold out of Peroxide Princess - she is going to It's No Joke - and is in foal to Cuvee. Liked the Seattle Slew and Distorted Humor cross.

African Skyline by Saint Ballado out of Why Go On Dreaming is booked to Artie Schiller - really liked him and wanted to get some turf breeding. She is in foal to Lion Heart.

So there we have it finally! Your thoughts on the decisions are still welcome!
