Hi, ny... I can see that both girls come from strong sound stock, and the families have been very fertile over the years.

Queen Lizzie has a G1 winner named Out of Hock several generations back, but relatively few other stakes contenders. She is getting on in years, as is Dr. Koch. He appears to have had little opportunity for success as a stallion, and not much positive results. There are no up-and-comers on the catalog page for any commercial upside to the foals, and little reason to expect a talented racehorse.

College Connie also comes from tough but ordinary stock, and there is no upside potential commercially.

If you want to breed TBs, you are going to have to carefully consider the short term and long term goals and expenses, as even with the best stock and management, it is hard to make a profit. If you decide to proceed, please get in contact with some experienced bloodstock breeders or agents, who can guide you in a positive direction.

If it were my money, I'd pass on both ladies and Dr. Koch.

If you must breed you might stand a better chance with mares by Private Account or Rhythm. Or ones with Tom Rolfe, Chieftain, Boldnesian, Secretariat, Buckpasser, Dr. Fager, Sir Gaylord, Herbager, Nijinsky, Graustark or Stage Door Johnny in the first four generations.

Your stallion certainly doesn't look his age. His third dam, Track Medal, was a Broodmare of the Year and full sister to the great Swaps. So any mare with Swaps would IMO be a plus.

Since you're in NY state you might find a daughter of Belmont winner, Go And Go, who stood there and whose blood might just dovetail.

tough stock is what i want, older the bloodline the better,I would never buy anything in life simply because it was up and coming, or the new "nike" of the thoroughbred world! but thank you for the advice!! if all i get out of my horses are enjoyment and a clean hobby for my children, and keep them off the streets dressed like gangsters. i already made a profit! so i think thats the possitive direction i will be taking so with my money, I'l keep both ladies and Dr. Koch till they leave this world and treat them respectfully. good luck to you though!

Hey, New York. You didn't say these were your pets! I thought you were trying to enjoy racing the stock you produce. You might at least decide if you might want a well-bred mare in foal added from outside your little family, and skip the expenses of breeding these pet horses.

Why not?! It will cost you less in the long run (likely) and be more fun for the family. Then you're left with a well-bred mare to make plans for in future years.

well i have a allens prospect mare whose dam is full sister to a graded stakes winner, placed 3rd in the breeders cup distaf,she works for me, my other is a cherokee run mare who raced ok, has a full sister that is also new at being a broodmare so they could help each other. and she also will work for me.. thanks again
