advice for a Noactor mare

Postby Gerry » Wed Apr 04, 2007 6:04 pm

Act Natural is by Noactor out of Whatanatural by Foolish Pleasure. She is a full sister to stakes winner WHATAFLASHYACTOR and stakes placed Whatanaturalactor. Being a maiden we are keeping her home for her 1st foal so the stallion choices are limited to the 9 stallions we have here and I have further narrowed the list to:

Meadaaar by Diesis out of Katiba by Gulch--Diesis screams distance turf but the damside is the immediate family of VERY SUBTLE.

Not A Corgi by Pemboke out of Maxixe by Dauphin Fabuleux--set NTR at 4.5f, 1/2 brother to track record setting sprinter MAX WEST

Dunsinyne by Kris S out of Sweet Tri by Tri Jet. Distance stakes winner set a NCR and a NTR.

She is inheat now so planning to breed soon...

THANKS so very much

Gerry

Of those three, perhaps Not A Corgi's pedigree suits her. What about the physical matchup?

Thanks Madelyn,

The physical makeup is why I chose those 3 stallions so the matchup with her and Corgi will be very nice. He also tends to throw a big foal so being her first (and 1st foals tend to be smaller) that may be the ideal mating.

Thanks again

Gerry

They definitely liked breeding your mare's mama to Noactor didn't they.I would definitely find something with speed for your mare.Altho one of her brothers has a 104 speed rating sprinting the fillies have been light in that respect:

Not A Corgi by Pembroke (a horse I've tried to buy several times) definitely has speed in his pedigree but to me his pedigree is somewhat suspect.Even having a track record his highest speed rating was a 99;I do like Pembroke-I think he has been somewhat mismanaged but he was a nice fast racehorse and has been a decent racehorse sire.

I Had a chance to buy Dunsinyne's mother when she was a 2 year old but passed because she looked like a turf mare (which was pretty much non-existent at that time in the midwest).I wondered what happened to her and she looks like she started out to be a nice producer but didn't last long.Did she die or was she exported ?Anyhow if your looking to compliment turf on turf on your mare I would use Dunsinye.I am curious tho',how big is he.

I would definitely look for a speed horse to kick back on your mare and Not A Corgi may be the trick.I myself would want something with a little more pedigree and some Stakes results as a racehorse.

Sincerely-Jeff
