After going to a few farms while in Lexington - it got me thinking about hypo matings (after seeing some TB studs in person, maybe I can get my mind around some things I had not been able to understand)....
Which lines would you consider for the following studs -
1- Monarchos ( I got to pet him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooo HOOOOO! sorry for the aside)
2- Najran
3- Devil His Due
4- Horse Chestnut (SAf)
5- Giacomo
Which lines would you breed to the following studs?

Re: Which lines would you breed to the following studs?
1- Monarchos----Any mare you wanted to sell to your worst enemy.
2- Najran---Mares from the lines which have worked with Cherokee Run. Doubling up on Seattle Slew could also be the way to go.
3- Devil His Due---In theory, Northern Dancer line mares should work. But his best horses are from different sire lines, like *Princequillo and Mr. P. This is a stallion you could use on an unsound mare if you were intent on breeding her. He was 100% hickory.
4- Horse Chestnut (SAf)---bigger bodied Mr. P line mares with Change Water in them. A sound ALLEN'S PROSPECT mare would be perfect.
5- Giacomo---quick, typey mares. If you could find a mare with TA WEE in her pedigree that would certainly be a big plus.

Send Giacomo Blushing Groom with speed. Carson City or Mt Livermore fit the bill. Adding *Wild Risk to the old Tatan Farms stock creates high-quality runners. Holy Bull is no exception, as he proved with Macho Uno. The "other" Wild Risk, Le Fabuleux, worked just fine (think Unbridled), but he's much too much stamina for Giacomo. Both Carson City and especially Mt Livermore have had success with this cross (think City Zip and Housebuster).
The other "hook" for Blushing Groom in Giacomo's pedigree is Tom Fool through Stop the Music (see Wekiva Springs, etc).
