is a 2S X 4D to Mr P too close? I'd definitely draw the live on a 2S X 3D to Mr P but was wondering of the 2S X 4D might beOK.
This mare produced a very nice Civilisation colt that is 3S X 4D to Mr P in 2006 with straight legs and good conformation ..Also has a WERK A++ .

I bred a mare last year on a 2x5 to Nanticious an thats as close as im going.I'll try 2x6 this year.I aiming for a filly not a runner.
I bet its just like playing the odds what ever the number is.
You might cull everone or you might hit the jackpot ever time.
Ive seen closer like 2x3 etc...hit, not sure how many times it took to get the nice horse.
Good luck if you try it.

Thanks
you are correct it is a crap shoot at best.
I suspect I am letting Not For Love's commercail success influience me here and need to set back and give this another long hard evealuation.. This would be a breed to sell foal and if there's anything at all wrong with it it I will not get back the $25k stud fee.
She produced a very nice and correct 05 colt by Civilisation [Gone West X Toussaud] that is a WERK A++ and is a 3S X 4D to Mr P ans a 5S x 4D to Northern Dancer. Civilisation is definetly not yet commercial but he's got a nice 04 gelding out of a Polish Numbers mare that's about to run his first stakes race.
Makes me wonder why I'd want to take a chance on o closer in-breeding to Not For Love.

Griff -- what about Duckhorn, Not For Love's PA-based son? That would move the Mr. P back a generation & although he's not yet a commercial success, he's still on the bubble.
He's big, big-boned & correct. If you'd like to see pictures of our 2007 Duckhorn foal, PM me your address & I'll send them. The only word of warning -- his foals are big at delivery. I think he needs a mare big enough to accommodate a big baby, or else the foal is likely to be a bit of a pretzel until it has time to unfold the whole way . . .
I'd be happy to have another foal out of him. And I'll be ecstatic, if his 1st babies do well when they are 2 or 3 year olds . . .

I one of those strange people that a stallion's dam is far more important than his sire,
Civilisation is by Gone West but more impotrant he is out of Toussaud.
I've decided to move her to PA in late September and take her to Civilisation after she foals in PA. She and the foal will then be moved back to PA.

Have you considered an outcross with Siphon?

Have you considered an outcross with Siphon? Runway Rosie who is by Include is out of Siphon mare Kids Today. Interesting that your mare has a similar cross to Cash Included who is by Broad Brush son Include and out of Chimes Band mare Henderson Band. Similar Broad Brush x Dixieland Band cross.

I'm looking real hard at Siphon for Perfect Colours in 08. She;s checked in-foal to Yankee Gentleman and I'd liketo make that foal a PABRED by breeding to Siphon or Lite The Fuse.
I wanted to breed Perfect Colours to Not For Love until I noticed her sire's dam was a full sister to NFL.
Styll like the WRRK A++ nick of Civilisation X Hot Concern but thanks all the same

Hu Yukidragon,
Who the heck can you get that's going to be in the 2nd and 6th generation!? I don't think I've ever seen it past 2x5 (and rarely).
Regards,
Pete
