I must have looked at this hypo mating a dozen times but keep second guessing myself. Does anybody see any reason why a mating of Slew City Slew to our mare Beach Barbicue ( Tabasco Cat out of an Unbridled mare ) isn't a good idea ? Loads of Princequillo, inbreeding to Prince John as well as Jet action and Bold Ruler all reinforcing both the stallion female as well as the mare tail female. Any / all comments much appreciated !

Very interesting puzzle. On the one hand, Slew City Slew isn't all that likely to be around forever, so if you are so inclined, there is no time like the present.

On the other hand, Tabasco Cat as a broodmare sire has not seemed to hit it off going that way. The good runner in the family by Boston Harbor would actually point me toward looking at Artie Schiller.

Madelyn you hit my reasons for hesitation right on the head. Slew with either Storm Cat or Unbridled is a no brainer, SCS isn't getting any younger and while it's too early to judge Tabasco Cat as a broodie he doesn't seem to lean towards Slew. It just seemed too simple to look at either Belong To Me which would give me a 3/4 to stakes winner Capitano or in the direction you indicated. Guess it would make a lot more sense to give Holy Bull a shot which would give me a triple of Aspidistra & Rough n' Tumble while picking up Dr. Fager as a bonus ? Holy Bull has at least had " some " success with storm cat and his inbreeding to the Unbridled in my mare is intense. Whatcha think ?

Of those, I like the Belong To Me mating the very best. But then there is the physical matchup, so if I was doing it I would make a short list and go on an inspecton tour.
