hey griff,

truthfully, with my very limited knowledge, i was suggesting st. averil and just threw in rock slide because he's over there and doing well. now that i look, i don't like the matchup, although i couldn't comment whether or not it's 'safe'. what do you think of st. averil w/this mare?

I like St Averil's 1st and 2nd dams and like the no PR P line breeding with My Moonbeam..

My question to My Moonbeams owner is why is she still not racing with a 3/2/0/0 race record?/

I don't care for Outflanker's 10/M/3/2 race record and $4,428 in winnings

Mightiehijames. How would you compare Rock Slide with Dance With Ravens and why??

I second the Outflanker. Solid stallion.

I remember Bickerstaff, what a nice mare she was.

I'm not trying to tart a fight but really would like to know what makes Outflanker a solid stallion.

I'm sure it's not his10/M/3/2 race record and $4,4428 in winnings. His dam has produced som stakes winner but he was not one of them and she only won $46.903.

His female family is one of the best in the studbook, having produced A.P. Indy, Summer Squall, Lemon Drop Kid, etc. They're obvious stallion producers.

And to his own credit, he's improving his mares and has pretty damn solid numbers. Another case where a stallions pedigree overcame his talent on the track.

Griff, by the time a horse has 3-4 crops running, it doesn't really matter what his race record is, or whether his dam won a lot of money. Pas de Nom wasn't a great broodmare, and her best-known son had a short and (on paper undistinguished) racing career. By the time he had 3-4 crops running, most folks had realized Danzig was something special.

For a $4000 regional horse, $45,000 average earnings (with no one big horse) and improving his mares is a good deal.

Agree he has done well for a stallion that was lucky to make it to the breeding shed. ..However, "solid stallion" seems to be a bit much for a horse that has only produced 50% winners and 9 each or 3.4% stakes winners in 6 crops, even if he is the grandson of Lassie Dean.

I sold her as a weanling. bought her back last fall. in foal to the owner's stallion (cat dreams) I now have a Calif. girl
she started to develop an ankle, I called the trainer and spoke with her. (was not racing at the owners level) so they stopped with only three starts. She's sound (she looks like her mom)

Outflanker is interesting. she's big enough to carry him
I breed to sell, and outflanker's don't do real well

thanks for the ideas

If you are breeding to sell take a look at Domestic Dispute. His yearlings have a $100k median..

Siphon also has a good sales record but it seems to be declining.

And then there's also Not For Love.

Can anyone give some feedback on Partner's Hero at Northview. Seems to get durable runners...both dirt/grass. He
seems like a nice sire for the price ($3500).
And DOWN the stretch they come!

Without considering nicks, No Armistice is off to a good start (1 runner, 1 winner, stakes placed), and I'm sure that Country Life would have crossed him with any Malibu Moon mares they would have, so there might be some good close-pedigreed runners coming up.
