2 X 3 Gold Beauty?

Postby Danzig » Sat Sep 15, 2007 8:12 pm

Should one even consider inbreeding 2X3 to the Reine de Course Gold Beauty?

If she has a quality family behind her, I'd give it a shot. Who else is doubled up in the ped?

Busher, Striking, and Busanda all show up in the sixth generation. Round Table will be 5X5.

I say jump on it especially if there's no Mr. P or Northern Dancer inbreeding along with it. You're reinforcing some of the best broodmare blood out there and she would be fun to play around with in the shed.

If you get a colt, sell.

Mr. Prospector is the sire of Gold Beauty, so it really isn't possible to inbreed to her, 2x3, without ending up with Mr. Prospector 3x4, so I assume you must mean no OTHER Mr. Prospector in the mating?

Perhaps you thought they meant Gold Digger?

I should have been more clear... yes, I meant no other Mr. P. Even though he would be doubled behind her, I focus on her being the actual inbreeding recipient, not him.

For instance, a Gold Legend-Dafnah cross would give you a 2sx3d to Gold Beauty with nothing else showing up from the cross.

Although, from what I gathered from Pat's posts, Mr. P inbreeding through Gold Beauty has been very successful. I just think bringing in another line of Mr. P from a different conduit will limit the chances to breed a mare with close Gold Beauty inbreeding.

To date there has been no graded wnners with Gold Beauty inbreeding. When you speak of Mr. P inbreeding and ONE of the conduits is Gold Beauty, there are about 10 graded winners, mostly through Dayjur but also through Gold Legend, Maplejinsky and others. Fappiano is still the gold standard for Mr. P inbreeding but Gold Beauty is a close second and may have her nose in front.

I actually have no knowledge of ANY Gold Beauty inbreeding. If you try it, and I love it when someone tries something new, please keep us posted on the foal and its record.
