i pretty much garbled this in another post but would like suggestions for this mare in 2008. we'd like to stay in the mid-atlantic area, if possible. one suggestion was to go back to grey flight:

From what i could gather it is either

Chesnut Flower or Flower of Chesnut .......something italian .

Of your choices I like scipion. Distinctive Pro being the BMS has produced 2 G3 winners from a Nasrullah line sire.

If you are breeding to race you might look at Thesaurus in KY.
I thought During might be worth a look also.

Why Thesaurus

This makes twice on this forum that the stallion Thesaurus has been
brought up. I am curious as to the reason. He has no progeny listed
and is already getting up there in years. Other than being a graded
stakes winner, why would one consider him?

What do you know about Thesaurus to suggest he be avoided?

He has no foals of racing age according to Brisnet, he was a solid runner himself: Totals 59 11 5 6 $602,234 (SSI=5.07)

If I were looking for a breed to race foal I dont see any reason not to stop by the college and look him over. Sale baby all together different matter.

Habitat,

I was not discouraging anybody from using Thesaurus. He fits alot of
my requirements for a stallion. The previous post on this forum regarding
him went unanswered, and I was just trying to stimulate some conversation about him. I have questions about
him myself, such as why he has no foals on record, despite looking
like he would be a good breed-to-race stallion. He is, afterall, 14 years
old.

I am going to call Dale at Murray State about him for one of my mares,
but would have liked some input from others that know about him.
