Is there any place where I can find a list of fillies and mares that ran in 2007 that are due to be bred in 2008?

What you're asking would require every mare owner or every stallion owner to report there intent or stallion contracts to a central data base which currently does not exist.

The Jockey Club compiles a "number of mares bred to each North American Stallion" report that is post breeding and does not identify the name of the mare. In short, I don't think what you are looking for exists.

Zinn's right--the information just doesn't exist in a nicely compiled list.

There are a few resources that could help, though. Take a look through 2007 auction records from the breeding stock sales, specifically searching for "broodmare prospects," and you'll find a whole lot of 2007 distaff runners who're mostly headed to the shed in the next few months. (Blood-Horse has an online database and a printed book of all North American auction sales.)

Of course, there are still mixed sales coming up this month and next, so a lot of mares' futures haven't been decided. The new owners might send them directly to the stud farm--so you'll want to watch the 2008 auction results as well!

And if you're looking for a specific big-name filly who retired in 2007, you can probably find a news article with the owner's intentions--or give the name here, and I'm sure someone will know!

I don't know about that. A LOT of the fillies and mares above 18 mos old at the breeding stock sales are Race OR Broodmare prospect. Even the ones listed broodmare prospect are also race prospects. It is just that there is less vet requirement to put them in the catalog as a BM prospect than a race prospect.
