Hi,

I was considering breeding my mare a few years down th line. She's by Mula Gula out of the Cox's Ridge mare Meeting Place. You can find her pedigree under "Scantily Clad," as well as a photo. I was wondering if you could offer up any suggestions regarding good crosses for her. It would be strictly breed to race in NY (provided we don't move in the next few years).

Also, I've been doing some research on my own as well, and if you know of any other helpful reading material, online or in a book, that would also be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help,
Ashley

Very good and cheap solution:

C B Account

Stands @ Oriskany Creek, NY.
He was a very durable and sound runner, comapared to the null racing career of the mare.
The pedigree is a substantial outcross, but the green star Locust Time
The stallion is of adeguate quality compared to the mare

Good Luck

Smooth Jazz is #4 in New York state with only one crop on the ground, and produced from some fairly modest mares. And he has a Kentucky Derby starter in Smooth Air who is ranked #6 on the Haskin Blood-Horse Derby Dozen. If there's a better value in NY, I am not sure who it is! (Yeah, I'm biased, but also possibly right!)

Hi Michael,
And you have every right to be biased ! I'm not sure, so asking an opinion here, if I'd want to triple Graustark. Here he'd be 6 x 5 x 5.

You might consider RIZZI by Afleet out of Top Wish by Topsider. He is a proven stallion with 81% winners to runners average earnings per runner of close to $63K and average lifetime starts per runner of 23 means his offspring tend to be sounder than average and he has a Stakes winner out of a mare by Lil E. Tee. His fee is $2K. See www.sezwhothoroughbreds.com
