I need your advise regarding mating my mares
POTRIKY

NORTHERN SPRING

My first choice is ALAJWAD, I like his conformation (more Affirmed than Storm Cat) and his female family.

My other options are
NARRATIVE (Sadler's Wells) and
WESTERN BORDERS (Gone West)

I love Alajwad's conformation. I feel like he could have been a major group winner in Europe or going long on the turf in the US. I think Bernstein being his half-brother, made his connections think he was going to be speedy around 1 turn.

There's not a single thing you can fault him for from a pedigree perspective but this year and the next are going to be telling to see if he makes much noise.

In my opinion, NORTHERN SPRING may become a good producer of steeplers/hurdlers (good old european lines...).

With this perspective, my advice is for

Nedawi 1995, Rainbow Quest – Wajd, by Northern Dancer

Just, standing in Brazil, if you don't mind...

Certainly an interesting suggestion, and I love the idea of breeding for hurdling/steeplechasing.

Unfortunately here we have very little of either in the states and so both racing opportunities and selling opportunities would be extremely limited for the resulting foal.

I don't know where our poster is from but I don't think it's Brazil and hauling costs on top of the non-commercial aspects of the mating may make it cost prohibitive.

Nevertheless, I'd be interested in having you elaborate what bloodlines in Northern Spring you think are particularly suited to hurdling/steeplechasing.
