Need some suggestions for Montana Rose (Golden Missile-Montana Cat). Ontario sires, $5000 and under. Thanks for your help!

My three choices (in order of preference)... Niigon, Marcavelly, or Old Forester. All stand for $5,000 and all would result in producing a prospective foal with an "A" Werk Rating (If you are a fan of Werk Ratings).

Thank you. We haven't decided whether she is going to return to racing this season to make up for the disastrous 2008 we had with her (through no fault of hers!) , or to send her to the breeding shed.

All lot will depend on whether Fort Erie opens. She isn't a fan of the poly, so we need to be exploring all our options.

Have you looked at Vibank at all? I believe Golden Missile has had some luck with that Silver Deputy cross in the past. Vibank is a very nice looking individual and I think you will find Park Stud has lowered their advertised fees.

I like Dance to Destiny and Niigon with your mare. Both stand at Colebrook Farms. I also like Ingot with your mare. He stands at Avila Acres. Check out Werkhorse.com and it will show you the stakes winners that have appeared from these crosses. There are some VERY nice horses on there. All of the stallions mentioned have a A or A+ rating with your mare (if you go by these). I also like Aljabr with her as well.

Best of luck to you and we would love to know who you choose

Well, we chose not to breed her this year, as she decided in about February that it was about time to get back into training.

We have a new, very experienced trainer this year, and he has gotten her happy and fit, and in her second start a week ago she placed. That to us, after the disaster of last year, was a good as a win!

We are looking forward to further improvement in the months to come, but she will eventually become another broodmare for us.
