Any thoughts on this mating?

Postby drsamurai » Fri Sep 16, 2011 6:20 am

I'm thinking about breeding Infinity (Saint Ballado) to Nobiz Like Shobiz next spring. Any opinions?

needed a password to get into that one, but I pulled it up on equineline and it looks like a nice cross.

I had Infinity's sister Peace Song on our farm last year. Anyway, your mare has a lot of nice back class, and I especially like Taking Pictures daughter -Trusted Partner (dam of Dressed to Thrill) You have some turf blood to work with.

You have to like a mare with Pleasant Tap, 3/4 brother to Go for Gin, for Nobiz.. I like this mare equally with Albertus Maximus who is standing his first season at Shadwell. AM is a very big horse, though, a bit over 16.3 and full bodied so let conformation be your guide...

Sure is a pretty pedigree with all the inbreeding color.. A couple of the mare's babies are in training with the 2 year old just running in his first start at the Spa in a straight maiden and the three year old on the comeback trail after running this last winner at Aqueduct in allowance company.

Anyone know where No Biz will stand in 2012? He is no longer on the Darby Dan stallion list.

I love my Nobiz colt :D he is 4 x 4 to Cormorant and his dam's family has shown an affinity for His Majesty blood (the 5th dam is a half to Sun Colony).

The Halo inbreeding is also interesting!

My colt is bred similarly to Albertus Maximus.

It says private.... and there has been no announcement yet or stallion register page online so who knows if that is the case.

I wonder how many mares he got this year. He had 70 mares last year and as of a few weeks ago, 38 registered foals from that crop. His fertility is fine, it's his philosophy on breeding that's a bit off.

What's off with his philosophy?

As to the announcement, it may not be accurate, but the information came from Darby Dan.

I like the Nobiz mating but I would go to Albert the Great in Pa., if he is still standing there. This would give you the RF to Never Knock with her two best sons, Pleasant Tap and Go for Gin one generation closer. The Rasmussen Factor is not the end all be all, however, it is seldom a bad thing.

He's not overly motivated to get on with it.... the last time my mare was there he came in the shed ready to go, jumped her and then changed his mind. After he got down I guess they must have had a talk with him or maybe it was the looks GiGi was giving him but he finally gave in and jumped her again and got it done.

Some stallions need to be wooed. Your tart may just lack subtlety.

Yes she came out of the shed the first time acting like she won a race so I bet you are right, had she come in wearing a nice garter and stockings and wearing a pair of handcuffs around her legs he would have been a lot more excited.
