Quinton's Gold or Premeditation

I'd love some thoughts from our pedigree gurus on which of these two regional (NM) stallions you like better with Soulful (Lion Heart x Seattle Slew). http://www.pedigreequery.com/soulful5

Quinton's Gold

Just got word that Desert God is apparently not standing to outside mares in 2013. Attila's Storm looks like a nice up-and-coming regional sire, but I'd hesitate to breed a Lion Heart mare to a Forest Wildcat stallion.

(By the way, if someone could please update Soulful's info, she's now 29-3-7-2, and $75,221 in earnings).

Thanks!

Check out INDIAN FIREWATER, who was just retired to NM. By Indian Charlie, he won a Grade 2 at Santa Anita and was fast, too.

IMO far better than the two stallions you proposed.

Thanks, Barcaldine. I do have my eye on Indian Firewater, but didn't think the unproven stallion/unproven mare was a good scenario. I was thinking maybe a year or two down the road he might be a good choice. But he stands at the same farm as Quinton's Gold, so I'll definitely take a look at him.

Thanks for your suggestion!

And also thanks to whoever got Soulful's info up to date in the database. :)

Thats a nice mare for NM.

I would go for a Mr Prospector line stallion and you have hit the nail on the head with Desert God, pity you can't get to him.

Second best looks like Quinton's Gold.

Thanks for your thoughts, Dublino. After four years, we decided to restart our breeding business with just one good mare and Soulful looked like a great choice for our plans. Her only downside is she's a little on the small side, but I don't think Lion Heart was a big horse either.

We had inquired about buying back our Smoke Glacken mare (Smoke Byda Sea) whose page has really improved in the last three years with the success of her half-sibs, but never heard back from the new owners.

Wouldn't worry about the other mare, she is not her siblings - as mistake some breeders and buyers make.

You have a mare who sold for $120,000 as a yearling out of a mare who sold for $300,000 must be a good looking mare.

She is small, so what.
She is a Northern Dancer line mare and he was what 15.3h?
A lot of big horses have soundness issues.

And this mare has a 2 yr old 1/2 sister that is stakes placed winner
http://www.pedigreequery.com/innocent+love

and a nice young family with 4 other 1/2 sisters to update her page.

Under the second dam the is about $2million in earnings.
Tons of winners and producers of winners.

You have a nice mare on your hands for a regional programme, keep us updated on what how you and the mare do.
