If you desire to read a very interesting and well put together chronology of the thoroughbred from the perspective of one of it's top 'modern' breeders you'll enjoy this site. Take the time to go through all 21 pages of the HISTORY portion of the Aga Khan's Stud's website, recounting his successes - and that of his sons, their advisors - on the turf and in the breeding shed or Sales Ring. A very good read to consider before making next year's breeding. I thought it very intersesting to go through the list of Foundation Broodmares and when you click on the mare of interest you get an even more detailed accounting of that mare, her pedigree, accomplishments and importance to the future than the thumbnails of their race records listed below their photo.

P.S. You sure don't see a whole lot of the Northern Dancer and almost none of the Native Dancer in these horses....though there are very selective individuals representing these bloodlines that are dipped into from time to time.
