Please give me your thoughts about a breed to race mating, Private Terms to Techno Vision by Technology. This is a 3X4 Damascus and the equivalent of 3X4 Bold Ruler. Is there hope for a race horse here? Fighting Fox on the sire side has a full Sister (Marguery) on the dam side, both full sibs to Gallant Fox.
Any thoughts for Stallions for Techno Vision next year (race breeding)??
Mating Advice: Too much Damascus and Bold Ruler??

Hi HP,
I'd forget about the 6th dam (and the 4th) and concentrate on the first 2.
Techno Vision looks like a nice breed to race type of mare. She had some talent and her first two dams have produced a number of respectable winners if not world beaters.
Private Terms is very reasonably priced and has worked breeding close to Bold Ruler (4x4). Nothing to suggest that inbreeding Damascus would help and on paper I don't that he's on sire and dam top line.
That said, you have a lot of latitude in breeding to race. I'd also suggest looking at Evansville Slew in the same price range who has a better profile of moving up his mares as does Tejano Run.
You might want to put Techno Vision up in a hypo mating with Double Honor. He has a number of implied affinities (Key To The Mint) with her and he sired ALL THE HONOR who is 3x4 Damascus. This mating ties Bold Ruler and Northern Dancer nicely and brings in Mr. Prospector. You do have a lot of latitude because Tecno is free of ND and Mr. P. Perhaps Private Terms and then breed a resulting filly to Double Honor?
Best of luck,
Pete

Double Honor
It would be lucky if Mr. Sherman sells Double Honor to a farm here in KY. I understand he will disperse all his horses including the seven stallions. We have another race to breed stallion named Pembroke across the road who's had a couple of stakes winners recently from a very small number of foals. Pembroke is also out of Gone West. Pembroke may be a fall back position if Double Honor goes far away. Thanks so much for your thoughts, I truly enjoy reading all of them. I like both Evansville Slew and Tejano Run. Tough hard knocking horses.

Actually Bold Ruler mares didn't do badly at all with Damascus.
