Just curious what you all make of this mare's prospects as a broodmare. I picked her up for a song, am nursing her back to health, and am hoping to get her in foal to Rubiyat by the end of the month. She's listed in the database.

Not any expert, but my first thought was what a bad name for the poor girl.

Since I've been researching for a Rubiano mare, I'd love to know your theory behind the mating choice.

She is a nice hard knocking mare.

Hi!

She has a nice race record and is decent bred and should make a nice broodmare. You should not go wrong with this mare at all as long as she has decent conformation. Good luck with Rubiyat.

Noticed that Conveyor had a stakes winner May 30 named Conveyor's Angel. (Golden Poppy S) The dam sire was an In Reality line sire named Prince Valid. Perhaps you might consider an In Reality line sire

Love to see What Luck in a pedigree. We, and others we knew, had some excellent What Luck grandkids back in the 80s. At one time, and maybe still, he was the only horse to have produced champions in both the TB and QH breeds. Seemed to be an excellent carrier of the Bold Ruler genes, and his offspring tended to be sprinters (or really good 870 horses in the case of QHs). I think there was one QH with a SI of 124. I *think* the horses name was Passon's Luck.
